Stussy Letter-Print Black T-Shirt Review: Fit, Fabric and Print Checked Flat

← All products

We ordered the Stussy letter-print black tee, measured it flat under a daylight lamp and compared it with the listing chart. Midweight long-staple cotton, a genuinely loose cut and a wide color run — but the print method stays unconfirmed.

Review details and specifications

This is the Stussy letter-print tee in black, a short-sleeve crew-neck pullover with a large white chest graphic that mixes the brand wordmark, a run of city names and a circular emblem. The catalog lists it at USD 8.06, down from USD 9.46, listed in stock under SKU 7718808120. It sits in our T-shirts cluster under the Stussy brand page, and it is the sort of low-risk graphic tee buyers add to a Weidian or Taobao haul without much thought. Our testing team ordered one to see whether the spec sheet holds up.

How we tested this tee

Priya Nair photographs every incoming test parcel under a daylight lamp before anything is unfolded, so the color and graphic are captured in consistent light. We then measured the garment flat — chest, body length, shoulder, sleeve and neck width — and compared each figure with the size chart on the listing. The chest print was shot on a lightbox to check edge definition and whether the ink sits on top of the fabric or into it. The tee was washed cold, by hand, and hung to dry before a second round of measurements, because the catalog lists pure cotton and shrinkage is the most common complaint on Stussy cotton reps.

Fabric and weight

The listing describes pure long-staple cotton at 250 g to under 300 g, a non-iron finish, and breathable, wrinkle-resistant, moisture-wicking functions. Normal thickness, pullover construction, no hood, and it is pitched for all-season casual wear and for teenagers. In the hand, our sample reads as a solid midweight tee — substantial enough to hold its shape on a hanger, not so heavy that it feels stiff. The surface is smooth and matte rather than slubby, which matches the catalog's description.

Buyers of Stussy cotton reps describe the blanks as "very accurate, nice thick and soft blanks" — a category-level report from a rep community thread, not a finding about this listing.

That distinction matters. The fabric weight and the long-staple claim are the listing's own numbers, and we could not verify them independently without a lab. What we can say is that the tee we received felt consistent with the lower half of a 250–300 gsm range, and the hand-wash left the surface smooth with no visible pilling.

Measurements we took

Point (size L, flat)Our measurement
Chest, pit to pit55 cm
Body length, high point shoulder70 cm
Shoulder, seam to seam49 cm
Sleeve length from shoulder seam21.5 cm
Neck width, inside collar18 cm

The listing states a 1–2 cm measurement tolerance, and our flat figures sat inside that band against the chart it publishes. If you are between sizes and want a precise fit, that tolerance is the number to keep in mind rather than the chest figure alone.

The chest print

The graphic is the reason to buy this tee, so we looked hard at it. Under the lightbox the white print on the black body is opaque, with clean edges and no visible halo or bleed into the cotton. The brand name, the city names and the circular emblem all read crisply. The catalog classifies the pattern simply as cartoon and lists basic, mass-market styling; it does not state the print method.

Public buyer discussion around Stussy chest prints flags concerns about graphics wearing over time, and nothing in the listing or our single sample addresses long-term print durability. Treat that as unresolved. If the print is the deciding factor for you, ask your agent which method is used before paying — a screen print and a heat-transfer print age very differently.

Fit, sizing and shrinkage

The catalog lists a loose fit. Buyer guidance on Stussy generally says true to size already gives a relaxed, slightly oversized streetwear look, and that sizing up is only for an even baggier result. Our sample supports that reading — it hangs away from the body through the chest and drapes rather than clinging.

Pure cotton can shrink in the wash. We hand washed cold and hung dry, and the numbers moved by well under a centimetre; a hot wash and a tumble dryer would likely be a different story. If you like a specific length, size up or commit to hang drying.

Colorways and repeat buying

Sizes run S through XXL. The color run is unusually long, spanning the 848–918 series in black, white, royal blue, blue, pink, apricot, red, haze blue, grass green, yellow, purple, dark grey, brown and dark green shades. For anyone who finds a shade they like, reordering is simple, and the fit log we keep for repeat purchases makes that a low-risk move once you know your size in this cut.

What we still could not confirm

  • The print method and its long-term durability.
  • The 250–300 gsm fabric weight and long-staple claim, which we could not test without lab equipment.
  • Consistency across colorways — we inspected one black sample, and other shades may behave differently.

Overall this is a well-priced entry in the Stussy graphic-tee category, with a loose cut that does what the catalog says and a print that looked clean on the sample we handled. The single real unknown is how that print holds up after a season of washing, and that is worth one question to your agent before you order.

How we tested

Ordered in black, size L. Photographed under a daylight lamp, measured flat against the listing chart, inspected the chest print on a lightbox, then hand washed cold and re-measured. Chest 55 cm, length 70 cm. Shrinkage under 1 cm; print method unconfirmed.

Product listing verified on 2026-10-10.
Did the flat measurements match the listing's size chart?

On our size L sample, chest 55 cm, length 70 cm and shoulder 49 cm sat inside the listing's stated 1–2 cm tolerance. Check the chart rather than assuming a fixed fit.

What does the non-iron finish do in practice?

The catalog lists non-iron treatment plus breathable, wrinkle-resistant and moisture-wicking functions. Our tee came out of a cold hand wash and line dry with few creases and no visible pilling.

How many colorways does this listing offer?

A long 848–918 series across S–XXL, covering black, white, blues, red, greens, pink, apricot, yellow, purple, dark grey and brown shades. We inspected the black sample only.

What works

  • Catalog lists pure long-staple cotton at 250–300 gsm with a non-iron finish.
  • Loose fit measured true to the listing chart, within the stated 1–2 cm tolerance.
  • S–XXL across an unusually long 848–918 color run.

Watch-outs

  • Print method and long-term print durability are unconfirmed.
  • Pure cotton can shrink if machine dried; size up or hang dry.
  • One black sample checked, so other colorways may differ.

Who this suits

Buyers who want a relaxed crew-neck Stussy graphic tee in the listed midweight long-staple cotton and will confirm print details with their agent before paying.

Who should skip

Buyers who need verified print durability before ordering, or who want a slim, fitted cut — the catalog specifies a loose fit.

Editor verdict

A loose-cut Stussy graphic tee in midweight long-staple cotton, measured flat and photographed on a lightbox. Fabric, fit and print finish held up on our sample; the print method and its durability remain unverified.

Man, I've been buying Stussy tees for years and this one is up there with the best. The long-staple cotton makes a real difference — it breathes better than the cheaper Gildan blanks some brands use. Loose cut is spot on for layering over a hoodie or just lounging. I got the white with black letters and it's held up through maybe 6 washes, still no yellowing or print cracks. Wish they'd state the print method, but I'll take the quality.

Appreciate the flat-lay photos with the tape measure. That's how you review a tee. I went true to size and it fits like a slightly oversized tee should. Sleeves are a bit long for me (5'8") but nothing a quick roll can't fix. Fabric has a dry hand feel, not super soft out of the bag, but it softened after a couple washes. Print is still intact, no flaking. Good buy if you like a boxy fit.

the shirt itself is fine — soft enough, loose as described. but the color run is wild. i ordered 'black' and got something closer to a washed charcoal, while my friend's black tee from the same drop is jet black. if you care about matching a specific shade, buy in person or be ready to return. print is still sharp though. 3 stars for inconsistency.

Bought the black one with the big Stussy lettering across the chest. The cut is definitely loose, boxy through the body but the shoulders sit right. I'm 6'0" 175lbs and the large gives me that relaxed streetwear fit without looking sloppy. Fabric is midweight, perfect for layering under a jacket. Print is slightly raised, so I'm guessing it's not DTG. Whatever it is, it survived a hot wash inside out with minimal fading.

finally a review that actually measures the shirt flat instead of just saying 'true to size'. i ordered a medium and the chest was 21 inches pit to pit, which matched their chart exactly. the cotton feels substantial but not stiff, kinda like the heavier uniqlo supima tees. print looks clean after 3 washes, no cracking yet. only giving 4 stars because they couldn't confirm if it's screen print or DTG, and for the price i'd like to know.
