hipobuy.tips

About

hipobuy.tips was founded in Singapore in 2021 by Marcus Tan, a former freight forwarding desk analyst who wanted clearer numbers on shopping agent fees, consolidation times and shipping line costs.

The desk is small: three named editors, a calibrated scale, a lightbox and a spreadsheet that never quite closes. We cover agents that buy from Taobao, Weidian and 1688, consolidate parcels and send them worldwide. Our testing team orders test items at retail price, pays agent service fees and shipping quotes, then records what actually arrives.

We publish hands-on reviews, rate tables and QC photo guides. Every score uses a five-point scale, and hands-on scores for agents we order and test use the full 1 to 5 scale. We retest each featured agent every six months or when its published fees and shipping lines change.

You can reach the editorial desk at editorial@hipobuy.tips. We read every message, but we do not accept payment for coverage or take-down requests for accurate test results.

Reading our coverage

Our consolidation comparisons distinguish measured box dimensions from billed volumetric weight, and place shipping rates alongside the parcel weight, destination and quote date.

Marcus Tan sets the testing calendar at hipobuy.tips, approves hands-on scores and writes the fee breakdowns within agent reviews. The work follows an order through agent replies, domestic shipping, consolidation and international line quotes rather than treating its charges as a single total. A test parcel is ordered through each agent, with items purchased at retail and the relevant fees and response times logged. Marcus repeats the order with a second parcel three weeks later to examine consistency, bringing a repeat test into the desk's comparison of agent economics and forwarding operations.

Priya Nair

Priya Nair leads hands-on reviews at hipobuy.tips, examining warehouse photographs, product listings and the items that arrive. Flat garment measurements against size charts and checks of sneaker stitching, glue lines, labels and insoles give the reviews their product detail. Each incoming test parcel is photographed under a daylight lamp, and a fit log is retained for repeat purchases. Priya also tests how quickly agents respond to exchange requests, bringing interface use and warehouse communication into the same review work as fit and QC photo analysis.

Daniel Wong

Daniel Wong researches costs at hipobuy.tips, tracking agent service fees, domestic courier charges and international line rates. Published rate cards are examined alongside checkout quotes through a test cart covering three parcel weights and five destination countries. Currency conversion spreads and handling fees added at payment are recorded as part of the price calculation. Volumetric weight and customs thresholds also fall within Daniel's remit, and the comparison tables are rebuilt every quarter to bring these cost components and destination conditions into the desk's research.
