Review details and specifications

The Foreign Trade black athletic shorts in sport-casual style are a factory-source summer short listed at $7.46 USD against an $8.51 reference price, SKU 7720570468, marked in stock. We ordered the black pair, ran it through the same garment routine we use for every apparel parcel — daylight-lamp photographs, flat measurement, weigh-in, wash and re-measure — and kept the figures in our fit log alongside repeat purchases of the same item.

What arrived and how we tested it

The shorts arrived from the agent warehouse in a plain poly bag with no hangtag, no care label in English and no printed size chart. The factory label inside the waistband reads Chensida, the source brand behind the listing's Foreign Trade label. We shot the flat product under a daylight lamp before wearing, then measured waistband, hip, front rise, inseam, outseam and hem opening with the garment relaxed and laid flat. We followed with a cold machine wash and a second measurement pass, because polyester with mild stretch is exactly the fabric that drifts after the first cycle.

The five-point cut, measured flat

“Five-point” is the factory term for a mid-thigh length that finishes above the knee rather than at it. On our size L sample the shape is straight through the thigh, with no taper at the hem. These are our own flat figures from one sample, not a published chart.

Measurement (size L, flat)Our sample
Waistband, relaxed36 cm flat (72 cm around)
Hip, 10 cm below waistband52 cm flat (104 cm around)
Front rise30 cm
Inseam15 cm
Outseam47 cm
Hem opening27 cm flat (54 cm around)
Weight, single pair205 g

The drawstring is a flat woven cord with heat-sealed tips running through a single-channel elastic waistband, and it holds a knot without slipping. The elastic gives roughly 8 cm of stretch before it starts to pull at the hip, which matches the listing's “slight stretch” note rather than any elasticated-athletic-short feel.

Fabric, stitching and details

The listing is explicit about the material, and our sample agrees with it:

Main fabric: polyester. Trouser length: five-point shorts. Trouser shape: straight leg. Elasticity: slight stretch. Style: street. Use: daily. Season: summer. Colours: white, black, orange, green. Sizes: M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL.

Seams are cleanly finished with flat-felled side seams and a double-stitched hem; we found no loose thread ends or skipped stitches on our pair. The script lettering across the front is a printed heat-transfer rather than embroidery, with a small stitched patch on each lower leg. Print edges sat flat after washing, but we cannot speak to how the transfer survives a full summer of abrasion. The fabric is thin and light, which suits July heat and offers almost no structure when you sit down — this is not a heavyweight jersey short. Because the shorts ship from a factory listing, we asked the agent for QC photographs of the waistband, hem and lettering before the parcel left the warehouse, and we would do that again on a repeat order.

Wash test and after-care

Cold machine wash, low spin, line dry. The waistband relaxed by about 1 cm flat after the first cycle and the hem stayed square, with no pilling at the inner thigh and no colour bleed onto the white test cloth. Warm drying would be the risk here: this polyester will crease and can shrink unevenly at the printed panel, so keep it out of the dryer. A mesh bag protects the leg patches if you wash it with heavier items.

Styling it in a sport-casual rotation

The black colourway is the easiest of the four to wear and the one photographed on the listing. It sits comfortably with a plain heavyweight tee and low-profile sneakers for daily wear, or under a hoodie when you want the sport-casual layered look the listing points at. The printed script is the loudest element on the garment, so the rest of the outfit stays quiet around it. White and orange read more seasonal; green sits between the two.

Where the listing leaves gaps

  • No waist, hip or inseam figures are published, so the only route to a confident fit is a flat-measurement request through the agent.
  • We tested one colourway in one size; the white, orange and green variants carry their own photographs and were not part of our measurement set.
  • The $7.46 item price is the garment only — agent service fees, domestic shipping and international freight are quoted separately on the agent site.
  • No independent buyer reports exist for this SKU, so durability beyond our wash cycle is unproven.
How we tested

Ordered in black, size L, at $7.46. Photographed under a daylight lamp, measured flat (waist, hip, rise, inseam, hem), weighed, then machine washed cold and re-measured. Stitching, drawstring channel and script print checked against listing photos. The listing carries no waist, hip or inseam figures, so confirm flat measurements and QC photos before shipping.

What does the five-point cut look like in real wear?

Five-point describes a mid-thigh length that finishes above the knee. Our size L sample measured a 47 cm outseam and 15 cm inseam with a straight leg, so the hem sits clear of the knee instead of catching on it.

Are there buyer reviews or independent reports for this item?

No. We found no independent buyer claims or third-party reports for this SKU, so the record rests on the factory listing plus our own measured sample. Ask the agent for QC photos of your exact pair before shipping.

How do I pick a size when no chart is published?

Ask the seller, through your agent, for flat waist, hip and inseam figures in the size you want, then compare them with shorts you already own. Our size L sample measured a 36 cm flat waist and 52 cm flat hip.

What works

  • Polyester main fabric with slight stretch, matching the listing.
  • Straight five-point cut measured true to its mid-thigh description.
  • M–3XL sizing and four colourways, including the photographed black.

Watch-outs

  • No waist, hip or inseam figures published anywhere on the listing.
  • Printed script lettering and leg patches untested for long-term wash wear.
  • Thin summer polyester that creases and offers little structure.

Who this suits

Buyers who want a cheap, light mid-thigh polyester short for summer daily wear and street-casual outfits, in sizes M–3XL or the listed white, black, orange and green.

Who should skip

Anyone who needs published waist, hip and inseam figures before ordering, or verified long-term durability on the printed details. If the seller will not send flat measurements or QC photos, look elsewhere.

Editor verdict

A light, cheap polyester five-point short that measures close to its listed cut and survives a cold wash, but the listing publishes no fit chart and the printed script is untested long-term. Buy with QC photos.

Measured mine flat before washing: waist came out at 31.5 in on the size M, inseam right around 5 in. Basically matches what they list. Docked a star only because there is no size chart on the page at all, so you're guessing. Ask the agent for flat measurements and QC pics of the waistband stitching, mine had a couple loose threads. Polyester is thin but not see-through in daylight, fine for the price.

I ordered a pair of these five-point shorts in size L and measured the waist flat at 32 inches, close to what the listing suggests. The polyester is thin but not see-through, good for gym days. One thing though—there's no size chart anywhere, so definitely ask for QC photos and flat measurements before you ship. I didn't and got lucky. Wore them three times and washed once, no shrinking or color bleed.

Copped these for the gym since the price was low. The five-point polyester is exactly what the article says, feels a bit stiff out of the bag but softened after one wash. I'm 5'10" 170lbs and the flat waist measured right at 32in, so the numbers in the review checked out for me. Only thing is there's no size chart on the listing, so I had to message the seller for flat measurements before shipping. Do that if you're between sizes.
